Thanks to all who contributed to the initial enquiry and subsequent to my the report of my personal experience. This was my first trip to the Kruger and I now wonder why I waited so long.
I suspect that it is going to be the first of many trips that will follow in the future.
I am unable to speak with any authority on any of the other regions of the Kruger, but can safely say that my expectations of the game drives and the game viewing including mammals and birds, (the latter being my favourite pursuit) was completely satisfied during my stay in the central area of the park.
Now to plan my future visits to the other areas of the Kruger.

Has anyone been lucky enough to be in this concession area?
You have to stay in Sishangeni lodge in order to gain access to the concession area.
Does anyone have stories to share regarding this area? Never been there :):)

Was lucky enough to stay there in June 2008, did not see many animals but it was a wonderful stay. I do remember one trip to the "edge" of Kruger, on the corner between the border of RSA and Mozambique. Will try to find pictures to post. :D

The concessions spend most of their time on the same roads in the Park that we can traverse - we have been at the hide on the S28 when their "drinks" tables were being set up!

Concessions are normally quite quiet and therefore in theory should see more (given the guides know where all the animals).
I have been lucky enough to stay in Sabie Sabie and there you see the most amazing sightings.
I would expect the concession to be the same.

Sabi Sabi is a reserve within a recognised game reserve namely the Sabie Sands Game Reserve so is not classified as a concession as such.
The concessions we are referring to are situated within the Kruger National Park and although some of them do from time to time spend some of their drives on their "own" concession they spend the majority of their drives on Kruger Park roads.

Brogan, Shishangeni Private Lodge is the one you are asking after.

The others in Kruger are listed here as Luxury Lodges:- link

Brogan, I have stayed at Camp Shonga before.
Its very different to Kruger...they take you for an early morning 3 hr game drive, anything from 2 to 8 people per vehicle (depending on how many guest in camp).
Then back to camp for breakfast and you have the time between breakfast and lunch to yourself before you go for a drive again around 4pm.
The 3 hr sunset drive includes a break with refreshments.
They mostly stay on the roads inside the concession as the only time they venture out is on the morning drive. I was told that they are not allowed to use the Kruger roads after 6pm.
Apart from a few lions on a kill and a vine snake we did not see much else of interest.

It is one of the 2 lodges in Shishangeni.
If you click on the link supplied by Dinkybird a few posts above it gives the info.
