An idea for a thread for some of the interesting spots in the KTP. i.e. A list with GPS co-ords of hyena dens, fox dens, owl roosts, owl nests, eagle nests, any animal items of interest, etc, (but only things that are semi-permanent or regular.)

I have not yet been to KTP and I have no clue of GPS co-ords.. but I think that this is a great idea.

Hi Dotty, unfortunately that thread only gives the positions of permanent places like camps, gates, etc, I'm thinking more on the lines of den sites, nests, owl roosts, large kills - things that may be around for more than a few days/weeks (though kills may only be around for a day or two ). Things to add value to someone's visit...

Great idea Graham..... i will be in KTP in december and will check out some of your co ordinates, and add some my own...... great innitiative.....

I will also be there in December and January and will see if I can add to the list

but only for those who know... not to disturb a den, nest, roost etc...

It would be great if those who can , post for Kruger in a separate thread.

Any new updates or new places?

Has anyone found the spots on the list currently, it would be nice to know if the system works and the spots are find-able

I'll be back in the KTP on Feb 5, will try find some more 'spots' and post them.

Wow that's tomorrow!! You are probably already on your way! Lucky you i still have 5 weeks to wait out but know they will fly by! Have saved those GPS co-ordinates and will check them out in March and post back! Looking for a few more to add before we leave?

Hi all Forumites

We leaving for the park on saturday and am just wondering if anyone has any more co-ordinates to add to list for special spots ie dens,nests, favourite trees ( leopards???) Am so ready for my annual dose of "Kalahari"!!

No GPS co-ords, but I'm sure you know the site of the spotted eagle owl nest about 12km from Mata Mata ?
