I am pleased to announce that one of my mates accompanying me will be Barcud, coming all the way from Wales. He is a hotshot birder and has been a few times to Kruger but never to Kgalagadi.

If you only speak die Hemel se taal, then you had better brush up on your English, otherwise I am sure he will unleash Welsh on you and that might not be pretty.

Another mate is from work, and he is 2 metres tall and my bodyguard, but after he has heard me snore, I suspect he might defect.....

I have also asked the guy with whom I have children together.

LMHO. Dummy  His daughter is married to my son... get it?

BB, I did mention the click-click sound you might hear coming from my tent regards to the snoring.

What I didnt tell you was that, that would be sound of a .458 loading

Hey, at least its not a shotgun Jannie - I'm sure the lions would object to having to pick little bits of metal out of their teeth after their snack 8)

Hello everyone,

I'm sooooo excited and very grateful to BB for inviting me to join you on this trip. Looking forward to meeting a few more Forumites (BB is the only one I've met so far).

Not too sure I'll be able to deal with the heat though, it was a scorching day here of 16 deg.C - phew!

I'm going to have a million and one questions to ask, so hope you all bear with me over the next few months as I pester you with requests for info.

KG might need that shotgun as I've been told that I snore loudly as well

Don't know about the hotshot birder bit BB, I'll be more like a kid in a sweetshop I think

Ek kan nie praat Afrikaans, maar ek is seker ek sal haal 'n woord of twee langs die pad. (I hope that's correct or I'll be in trouble  ).

Hwyl am nawr,

Hi Caracal & Scouter,

I've started reading up more on the area already. I agree it's gonna be awesome.

First question - How do I charge my camera batteries? - I guess I'll need some sort of adapter for charging from the car battery? Any you can suggest please.

Caracal - I'm renowned for my very bad jokes, wouldn't want to put you through the trauma of having to listen to them all  O ble yng Nghymru yda chi yn dod?

While we are in camp it should be no problem if you have an adapter from 'square' pins to the local 'round' ones, and I will bring battery packs that have a cigarette lighter plughole.

I have an inverter built in my canopy connected to my dual battery system - I'm sure I'll have space for one more charger in it.
