This does not mean that it is allowed

Micetta did google translate:

In answer:

Quote:
Yes Imberbe, Skuks, and some others it is allowed. Proximity of certain other pools i.e. Pretoriuskop, it is not allowed. Depends from camp to camp

Micetta, after dark, there are dangers lurking. Pretoriuskop at least does not allow swimming after dark. I have seen Leopard there, so it does make sense, Letaba, only with prior arrangement is the pool at the picninc spot open etc.

And also, it is needed that the pools get cleaned, chemicals added that can be dangerous to human skin, causing irritation etc.

I just took a stroll to reception here at Punda, and was told, by SANParks, that one can use the pool in this camp at any time, even after dark. That is one camp in one park - Punda Maria in Kruger National Park. The lady did tell me the same applied to some other camps in Kruger as well.

Micetta, there are many swimming pools in SANParks - can you please be more specific as to your question? There are pools in Addo, Karoo, Mokala, Mountain Zebra ... just to name a few. Each region, park and camp could have its own regulations. So can you provide more detail as to the exact info you require - your question is very broad. SANParks, understandably, will not have a blanket policy on the use of swimming pools.

MATTHYS, seeing that I really posted some outstanding information for peeps to conjure some info on, I do think it is the appropriate place, so many other persons may plan their pool times, especially the skinnydipping part, for future. :D :D :D

The reason for the question is, that I want to be sure that no one will be fooling around in the swimming pool in the evening if I book an accomadation within ear range  The park is Kruger and the camp may be any.

Micetta, most pools are in the proximity of the Camping sites, so our cries of delight should not bother you. :D

Actually all are at the campsites barring pools such as Mopani that has no campsite.

Very good question i.r.o. use of pools(hours)
reasons are ,
- noise level, later at night,
- personal safety,pool lights ,etc

If I remember correctly pools may not be used "after hours"(last light and first light, gate times) and also not by day visitors.

I have been for a swim after dark at a few of the camps. As Scipio said, some of us with a more sensitive skin battle during day. Have never seen anywhere a sign giving pool hours and don't think it is not allowed later in the evening. If it has been a hot day and evening is still hot, it is nice to have a cooling swim befoer going to bed.

If there is noise from the pool at night, I do not believe it is because of the swimming but more about the alcohol consumed in which case if the noise did not happen at the pool it would happen at the bungalow or accomodation unit. Think most would prefer it not to happen, but if it did happen then I would prefer at the pool (which is normally situated a bit away from accomodation).
