In 87/88 when I was in the army in KNP, the river was in full flow (there were floods in early 88. could have been Demoina ?) we used to monitor the bridge at night and sleep in the bushes (on North West) during the day. I could tell you a few interesting sights we saw ON the bridge!! At the time , it was not legal to get out , but that did not stop anyone! It's amazing how many people looked straight at us even with Binos and didn't see us ! One guy got bitten by a hyena and another was feet away from being lion chow! Moral of the story is: don't fall asleep on duty!
