Crithagara symonsi (Bergpietjiekanarie)

Occurs in grassland and scrub in the high mountains, descending into kloofs down to 1,500m in winter. Forages on the ground among rocks and vegetation and is easily overlooked. Food: seeds, buds and insects. Monogamous. Cup nest often in rock face crevice. Canary like song.
