Howzit Forumites :D

Just a friendly reminder to please keep on sending through Fruit Bat sightings in from Skukuza. It is highly important with regards to us monitoring the roosts.

Best Regards,
Batmad

I saw when we visited in May this year that there weren't any bats. Did something happen? I will take some pics when we're there next week.

Yes Spinnekop- They were chased away by the use of Chlorine to get rid of them due to "Hygiene problems" but then after we kicked up a fuss they had no option but to remove them ;)

We were there at the end of October and there was about 10-15 (I did count but forgot now...my apologies) that were under the thatch.

Hi Batmad

We had lunch at Skukuza yesterday and we counted only 3 bats... Hope this is not bad news?

Keep up the good work.

This is very worrying that the once 50 or more bats have gone down in number.
Since the introduction of chlorine to frighten away the bats I have stopped supporting this restaurant which has a main priority to make money with a 'screw the animals policy'.
They have caused immense disturbance to this colony and number have not been what they were since they have interfered.
I really wonder what happens when there are no people to check up on the owners of this restaurant and with their track record and seeing whats going on there I am suggesting that the foul play is continuing !! ..or would like to know what they are doing otherwise to reverse the damage they have caused?
