Do you think there's room for an "Animated sightings" thread? Or would they be better in the highlights thread?

I think they really add something and need a place somewhere on the forum.

I think it would slow down the daily webcam posts with a lot of duplicates been posted as Singles and then animated..

Have a look here guys for some timelapse movies

I have never been a steady web cam viewer, but this is much more interesting way to see them.

Someone does all the work and at the end of the day, or night the rest will have a lovely animated web cam show

Stuart is there a way to slow the interval between the pics?

Perhaps all the days posts could be summarised into one animatio? Can you tell my mind is on summaries

Hi all
When I saw Stuart's first animated sighting, my mind immediately exploded with ideas of all the great action sequences we could animate
Remember when we had all that swimming baboon activity at Satara? And in particular there was that fantastic action shot from Kamadejo of the "flying monkey". I wonder what that would look like with all the posts before and after that image put together
Before I joined the forum, I watched the cams and meticulously saved each image in a sequence, such was my joy at seeing all these amazing animals I had never seen before. I joined the forum to get an ID on a wild dog sighting, but my first post was of only one image. Here is the sequence I saw that night:


So I think these animated sightings have value, not to duplicate the daily sightings so much (like watching a maribou stork move from one leg to the other over several hours perhaps wouldn't be that entertaining), but to add a little "something" more to action scenes, or the rarer sightings.

Here's a leopard sighting I dug out of my archives and "animated"


And I have plenty more to come!!

What fun the animated sightings are, to do and to watch.
How to date them? Same as the single shot sightings?
