Have seen this beautiful little kingfisher at Rietvlei NR yesterday. First time round he was chasing the swallows away.
Second vlei - I watched him for quite some time - fishing.

When I go through to Potchefstroom for work, I have lately made a point of stopping at the river behind the Klipdrift Dam, and have found these beauties there everytime.
In the second pic, the adult was being chase by the juvenile (maybe to be fed?) and ended up "reprimanding" the little one.
