Morning,

Just got word from GavinW about there amazing sightings so far in the park which includes all of the large predators.
Last night they saw Caracal and leopard at Urikaruus. Leopard kill close to Batulama (Yesterday) and suricates this morning............

Eland herd at Marie"s :dance: :dance: In the last 4 years have only seen one herd of Eland and that was on Mosamane pan doing the 4x4 trail from Mabua section - it was magnificent - about 100 animals!! Friend in the park as we speak - I hope she got to see the leopard kill near Bataluma - green with envy :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Morning All,

We have all heard the expression "At the right place at the right time"...now where is the right place and what is the right time?

Yesterday morning we did a walk in the samevloeiing area, where we park our vehicle (it can be seen from samevloeiing by the guests). Just after we started our walk and was heading towards the calcrete ridge to catch the early morning sun (as it was very cold), there were guests at samevloeiing watching us through their binoculars.

While watching us the suddenly saw a cloud of dust appearing from behind us in the riverbed, unfortunately for us we didn’t hear a thing, never the less after the dust cloud settled a leopard with its kill appeared and dragged the kill into a tree about 150 meters behind our vehicle.....

With all this action going on behind us and we were to far away to hear anything we missed it......

The guest’s couldn’t understand why we walked in the wrong direction when everything happens behind us. So how close to having this action on a walk could you get to?
