Thanks KathUK, I paint the background colour as well. Sometimes it fails completely and I have to re-do it a couple of times. I paint on stretched canvas and acrylic boards. The small paintings are on acrylic canvas paper.

Nooooo! Just try it! It's the easiest thing in the world. I never plan anything before I paint it. I just stick some dots here and some lines there and some wacky colours. If it looks bad, I just keep adding dots and lines. You can't go wrong! You just need some cheap acrylic paints. And I only own one paintbrush. Totally easy

And post the results for us!

wow Caracal!! that's beautiful! the tile colors are perfect for that picture...I bet it 's heavy tho.
