Hi,

We are thinking about spending some time in the Cape Point rest camp. There seem to be 3 cottages, but I don't know more than that. Has anyone stayed there before? Anyone heard anything?

Thanks,
Liora

Hi Liora,

I am not acquainted with the accommodation at Cape point but, you might find accommodation that would suit you on this page.

Hi,

Thanks. I saw the information on the web, but I have not found anybody who has actually stayed there. :?

I am interested to know what it is like and if it is safe... Any idea where I can find out about that?

Thanks,
Liora

Liora, did you stay at Cape Point?

Has any one got 1st hand info on DUIKER or ELAND cottages at CAPE POINT?
I saw them on Table Mountain National Park site but also wondering about their condition and security.
Many thanks, Kite

Hi Kite,

Yes, we did stay there and it was very relaxing. I sent you a pm but we can discuss this in the forum if you want.

Hi,

I couldn't find much information before we left, so I will be glad to share what I can.

We stayed at Cape Point at Duiker cottage for a few nights in December and it was very enjoyable. It is a bit of a drive from the gate, but not too bad (about 15/20 minutes). Duiker and Eland cottages are close to each other. Olifantsbos is further away and can accommodate more people but is not connected to the electricity grid, only solar and gas powered.

Duiker and Eland are very close to the conservation centre and maintenance buildings, but we found that helped in terms of security and was still very quiet (we actually only saw them driving around a bit).

The cottage was very clean and had all utensils (stove/oven and microwave, fridge etc.). It was serviced every day. The staff were very helpful and and will take note of any complaints or problems and fix it as soon as possible. It looks pretty much like the pictures on the website.

We found it a very relaxing holiday, nice and quiet, but don't tell tooo many people about it otherwise we will never get a booking again.

Regards,
Liora
