Hi there guys. What is the status of Caracal in TMNP? Yesterday afternoon I came over Hospital Bend and saw road kill in the road that looked a lot like a small Caracal, judging by the colour and I am sure I saw the ear tufts. Is this possible? If yes, how big is the caracal population on the actual Table Mountain part of the park? I hope the loss of a young caracal will not be a big blow to the population. Are the fences appropriate for medium sized animals like caracal and porcupine etc?
