Oh dear........

Just a few short and easy ones for the friday:

If you go to a dusty area, like KTP or Kruger before the rains, use bathcaps to protect your equipment.
A bathcap will snugly fit over your camera, with the lens peeking out. It will keep out a lot of dust, but can be removed in an instant. It will also protect partially agains rain of course.
(Inside out the pink flowers will be less visible. )

Use a beanbag!
Obvious, no need to explain I think (if need be just ask).
But fill it with good rice, like Tastic. To you it does not matter what the rice tastes like, but when you leave and remove the rice you can give it away. And then it's always nicer to give good rice away.

DQ, I followed your advise about the bathcaps and must say it works in a big way. Initially found a couple of pink ones but have now managed to get two simple white ones and keep them always on.

Looking for a good place to order my bean bag as they seem impossible to find here in Italy. Seems best place is the UK and also have a great choice.

That shower cap is a really great idea!!

BB30 sent me to hunt down a shower cap for her and I discovered a set of bowl covers that work on the same principle, has varied sizes and was quite cheap! Found them at Crazy Store!

Thanks BM for the tip....and presumably they don't have pink flowers on them!

Nope... They are see-through! Thank goodness. I think BM knew what I would have done with pink flowery ones!

Please, Please everybody. My wife had just picked up this thread today and was really excited about actually learning something about her camera that was written in plain and simple english. And now suddenly - BOOM - all seems to have ended. Please MM, DQ and all other contibutors, can we continue from we we left off. Let me give an example of her/our frustration. On Saturday the new SAA Airbus A330 was doing some touch and goes at Waterkloof Airforcebase. Both Joan and I took some photos using camera and 500mm lens. All the picyures are ever so slightly out of focus. They look ok at normal size but as soon as one crops them the out of focus becomes apparent. Please continue with this thread as there are so many of us out here that can learn so much from so few.

Please continue Massimo, there are many people who will benefit and enjoy this thread It was just a little misunderstanding

Thanks RR. I know this has nothing to do with the National Parks Board but it will help my wife and I with getting a picture in focus.

steamtrainfan, that is not a bad picture at all, really good considering it was moving! Knowing the settings will help, try download this picture viewer, it is an excellent free programmme and allows you to view all the info regarding the shot

Pic looks pretty well in focus, first of all check your camera settings. With Digital cameras you can set the quality of the picture from Low to High and size from small to big.
Of course a picture taken in Low quality is going to take less memory than one taken in High and of course will also give you less on the quality side.

I always take mine in High Quality + Big Size and this way I also obtain the best quality the camera can give.

A faster shutter speed would of alleviated camera shake and given you a sharper image..
