Great idea to assist, I have a few photos but where of how do I load them?

Hi to all you experts...help, PLEEZ!

Here is a photo "as is", and I like it very much, but want to make it the best it can be....taken just outside Tamboti after a very uneventful game drive. I challenged my SO to at least give me a nice sunset shot, and this is what transpired. Thanks to all who can offer your most appreciated suggestions.

All would do is cut off a bit of the top and bottom, laying the focus even more on the rhino...

What exactly would you like to see better?

Thanks...wanted some help with composition, seeing as I ended up with it square in the middle (rule of thirds and all that)...if I cut top and bottom, it would leave a long skinny photo? Would you crop right or left, as well, to keep it from being so centered? Much appreciated.

Rule of thirds is only a guide - not an absolute. I think yours is perfectly OK with sun fairly central.

Others may disagree!!

Hi just very recently switched to digital Sony A350 to accommodate my Minolta lenses. The variables are infinite any comments on this shot....

Not at all bad! Most of my similar shots come from Shinwedzi camp; where was this one taken?

Its a bit difficult to be critical on a photo at this resolution - but I get the impression you have done what I do all too often(!) - the sharpest focus is not the eye / head but further back. Very difficult to get this right, even with an SLR.

I agree with richardharris, if the camera chooses what to focus on, it is sometime difficult to pin point you focal point. That's the reason why I choose my focal point to be on a single spot and I can move it around as I please between 11 focal points without having to move my camera around.

If you can't do that and, say for instance, your camera's focal point is in the middle, focus with your subject in the middle, keep the shutter button half-way in and move your camera away to compose the shot. Just keep a watchfull eye on your exposure when moving around if you can't lock you EV value.

agree with the above comments , have you tried doing some minor sharpening to the pic and a little lightening? I think thats all it needs otherwise good shot
