Back to all news
Date: 28th February 2012
A joint meeting between South African National Parks (SANParks), one of the main unions, Health and Other Service Personnel Trade Union of South Africa (HOSPERSA) and representatives of the strikers will take place on Thursday, 1 March 2012 in Skukuza in order to find a solution to the current strike.
This follows two special meetings between SANParks and HOSPERSA which consequently took place last week, 22 February 2012 and again yesterday wherein it was resolved that a joint meeting shall be held with the strikers representatives in order to find an amicable solution to the strike.
"We hope that the outcome of the meeting on Thursday will produce positive results; our wish as management is to see the striking employees returning back to work as soon as possible." said KNP HOD of Communication and Public Relations, Mr William Mabasa.
The strike has entered its 4th week since it started in the KNP on 3 February 2012; and some of the staff members at Mapungubwe National Park have since joined in.
